The Power of Believing In Someone – Adoption Awareness Month

Adoption Awareness Month
The Power In Believing In Someone

November is National Adoption Awareness Month.

I was blessed to become my son’s mom seven years ago when he was seven years old and patiently waiting for his forever family. And that we are. We are a family formed through adoption and solidified by love.

I’ll share more of our story in the future, but in a nutshell, my son is the most inspiring person I have ever met.

In addition to other struggles, my son battled cerebral palsy with exceptionally few resources his first seven years and had a lot of difficulty doing everyday things, even walking.

That all changed when he was simply given a chance.

With the help of the Shriners Hospitals for Children and my son’s determination and unbelievable resilience, he now not only walks fine, but can run, ride a bike and he even plays football.

His story was so inspiring, instead of choosing the typical college or high school athlete, my son was chosen and featured as ‘Athlete of the Week’. If you’d like to see the segment, use the following link to the videos tab on my Facebook page. I’d love for you to see it!

What I’d like you to take away from this post is not only the beauty of adoption, but the power of believing in somebody.

My son is proof of the power of just ONE person believing in someone.

Whoever you believe in, make sure they know it! Tell them today!!

And Happy National Adoption Awareness Month!
